Zhivyje i mjortvyje - The Living and the Dead - Vintage Movie Poster, 1964

An original Finnish first-screening poster for Zhivye i Myortvye (The Living and the Dead, 1964), directed by Alexander Stolper and based on the celebrated novel by Konstantin Simonov - one of the most important and widely seen Soviet films about the Second World War, a massive popular and critical success on release. First and only Finnish cinema release commenced November 1964. 

Printed by Rotapaino Oy, dated 1964. Standard Finnish A2, approximately 60 × 40 cm.

The Finnish design takes its own approach to the layout and the graphics are effective and striking.

Condition: Very Fine to Mint. Apparently unused: unfolded, free from pinholes or any signs of use. Exceptionally clean and bright. A rare poster in any condition; to find such a perfect example is exceptional.
