First Finnish-language edition of Tuhatta ja Yhtä Yötä (One Thousand and One Nights), illustrated by René Bull — first published in English as The Arabian Nights (1912). An enduringly popular edition in Finland, republished a dozen times through to 1998.
Original pictorial cloth gilt with salmon-pink coloured edges. Pp. 331, with 10 colour tissue-guarded plates and numerous line drawings, many full-page, all titled and indexed at the rear.
Condition: Good. Bumped and rubbed at the corners with short tears to the cloth at the head and tail of the backstrip. Rubbing and fading to the titles at the upper cover and backstrip. Minor lean; intermittent cracking to the text block but structurally very sound — no loose leaves or plates. Remarkably clean internally, almost entirely free from foxing, spotting, or finger-marking. Neat previous owner name and date (1925) to the top corner of the front endpaper. A fine example of Golden Age illustration.
