Trollvinter - or Moominland Midwinter to give it its English name - offers a more sombre, introspective tone than its predecessors. When Moomintroll unexpectedly awakes from hibernation midwinter, he has to learn to fend for himself and deal with strange new feelings. Many see the story as an allegory for the transition from childhood to adolescence.
1/4 cloth, paper-covered pictorial boards, pp. 145, illustated.
An attractive copy, with some very minor fading of colour to the red spine area, very minor marks to the boards. Corners bumped, lower front corner split, upper board bowing upwards a little. Remains firmly bound, however, and presents well.
The block is fresh and there is neither foxing nor other kinds of spotting to the pages or page-edges. At the front endpaper there are two former owner names along the top margin, the first of which has scored out with two lines (see picture):
