The Swedish First edition of the sixth title in the legendary Moomins series. Published in Stockholm by Hugo Gebers, printed in Swedish.
Trollvinter - or Moominland Midwinter to give it its English name - offers a more sombre, introspective tone than its predecessors. When Moomintroll unexpectedly awakes from hibernation midwinter, he has to learn to fend for himself and deal with strange new feelings. Many see the story as an allegory for the transition from childhood to adolescence.
1/4 cloth, paper-covered pictorial boards, pp. 145, illustrated.
An attractive copy, with noticeable fading of colour to the red backstrip, very minor marks to the boards. Corners bumped, both lower corners split, upper board bowing upwards a little. Remains firmly bound, however, and presents very well.
The block is fresh and there is neither foxing nor other kinds of spotting to the pages or page-edges. Entirely free from owner names, spotting or stains etc, a very clean example.
Overall in VG+ condition, a nice copy.
