When Moomintroll unexpectedly wakes from hibernation in the depths of winter, he must learn to fend for himself and confront strange new feelings. Many readers and critics have read the story as an allegory for the transition from childhood to adolescence — among the most quietly powerful of Jansson’s Moomin books.

Condition: Very Good+. Noticeable fading to the red cloth backstrip; very minor marks to the boards; corners bumped, both lower corners split; upper board bowing slightly. Binding firm. Text block fresh, entirely free from foxing, spotting, ownership inscriptions, or staining. A clean, attractive copy that presents very well.
