The White Gorilla - Vintage Finnish Movie Poster, 1940'S

An original Finnish tour poster for The White Gorilla (1945), the exploitation film starring Ray “Crash” Corrigan. The film opened in Finland in December 1946 with a very limited run; this poster dates to circa 1946/47.

Possibly one of the worst films ever made but its spectacular awfulness and subject matter have naturally cultivated a devoted cult following. The rarity of authentic promotional material only adds to this poster’s desirability.

This is a Finnish tour poster: a resized printing of the standard A2 lobby poster, produced for distribution to regional cinemas and smaller venues outside the main cities following the initial theatrical run. Typically slightly narrower and longer than A2, with printed margins for local venue information.

Condition: C8/9, Very Fine/Near Mint. Unused, no folding creases, clean throughout. Minor flaws: some short crease lines from the right edge with slight fading of background colour; a few small white spots where colour did not distribute evenly in printing — a printing flaw, not wear. Otherwise near flawless for a poster approaching 80 years old.
