Shirley Hughes - Autograph Inscription and Signature on Card, 1998

Shirley Hughes (1927–2022) was a British author and illustrator, best known for the Alfie series and Dogger (1977), which won the Kate Greenaway Medal. One of the most beloved British children's illustrators of the twentieth century, with over 50 books to her name.

A plain white card bearing the author's hand-written inscription and signature. Inscription reads: "For Clive with very Best Wishes". Measures approximately 6" x 4". Can be trimmed for mounting if required. Pencil notes to verso.

Provenance: obtained in person by Clive Bullimore at a book signing at Hatchards, Piccadilly, London, on 30 November 1998.
