Robert Donat in Goodbye Mr. Chips - Vintage Re-Screening Movie Poster 1946

An original Finnish re-screening poster (printed 1946) for Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939), the MGM drama directed by Sam Wood, starring Robert Donat who won the Academy Award for Best Actor for this performance - famously beating Clark Gable in Gone with the Wind - and Greer Garson, who received her first Academy Award nomination for her role. First screened in Finland in 1939; this poster dates from a subsequent re-screening in 1946, likely a reprint of the first-screening poster.

Printed by Kirjapaino Nopea Oy, with printed date 1946. Approximately 16 × 23 inches.

Condition: C6, Very Good. No pinholes or obvious signs of mounting. Economy wartime paper stock, thin, with random folding and handling creases. Wrinkling to the top right margin, possibly from moisture. Some browning along left and right margins. Two small nicks to the left edge near the top. Remarkably clean overall and still a handsome vintage poster.
