Original beige-coloured, gilt-blocked cloth, pp. 78, 17 tissue-guarded, tipped-in colour plates including frontispiece.
The covers exceptionally clean with one tiny mark to the backstrip. Creased a little at the spine tips, binding firm and square with corners un-bumped. Upper cover very slightly bowing when viewed from the fore-edge.
Two previous owner names in ink to the top margin of the front free endpaper.
Thick paper-stock, entirely free from foxing or spotting there is intermittent off-setting to the text in places from the outlines of the plates which are fixed to thicker, card-like pages but - remarkably - no off-setting from the tissue-guards.
Exceptional condition - it is evident that book has been cherished since publication by careful owners.
Volume 2 - VALKYRJAN (The Valkyrie), 1910

Original beige-coloured, gilt-blocked cloth, pp. 89, 17 tissue-guarded, tipped-in colour plates including frontispiece.
The covers exceptionally clean. Creased a little at the spine tips, binding firm and square with corners of the lower cover slightly bumped. Upper cover very slightly bowing when viewed from the fore-edge.
At the backstrip there is a small tear to the cloth and two smaller abrasions - titles not affected but noticeable blemishes which may be impact damage of some kind.

The covers exceptionally clean with one or two microscopic blemishes. Creased a little at the spine tips, binding firm and square with lower corners slightly bumped.
