Ethel and Ernest is a humorous and touching account of the author's parents, from their first chance encounter until their deaths. Told in Briggs's distinctive strip-cartoon format, it won Illustrated Book of the Year at the 1999 British Book Awards and was later adapted for the screen.

Condition: Fine. Minor shelf rubbing to the corners and spine ends of the boards. The binding remains firm and tight, the covers are clean and unbumped, and there are no ownership marks.

The white paper dustwrapper is clean and bright, with only a few small marks along the top edge of the rear panel. Unclipped and otherwise fine.
