P.M. Hubbard (1910-1980) was a British author who worked in the Foreign Office before turning to fiction. He wrote seventeen crime and mystery novels between 1963 and 1977, all published in the UK by Michael Joseph. His books are characterised by rural settings, understated prose, and a distinctly English atmosphere, and have become increasingly sought-after by collectors of mid-century British crime fiction.

Condition: A handsome copy of this very hard-to-find title. Covers and titles very clean and bright; previous owner name and year to the centre of the front endpaper; square and tight with no other significant signs of use, though the edges are darkened and slightly dusty (see photographs). No spotting or foxing. Very Good in Near Fine dustjacket (unclipped; minor rubbing to spine ends; some print soiling to inside surface and at the top edge of the front panel).
