A charming maritime piece by the founder of the "Nottingham school".  This talented Victorian artist taught his more famous sons Claude Thomas Stanfield Moore and Rubens Arthur to paint and it is fascinating to imagine one or both having contributed a few brush-stroke of their own to this composition.

Good condition commensurate with age.
