Signed directly at the title page by Mikhail Gorbachev. Signed in person for the seller at the Waterstones branch in Harrods, Knightsbridge, London, 1996. After only 15–20 minutes of signings, his security team closed the queue behind us, turning away the remaining hundreds of customers. Only an estimated 50–60 copies were signed that day, his only scheduled UK signing at that time, to our knowledge. Most other signed copies of this book are signed via bookplate and directly autographed copies such as this one are genuinely rare.

Condition: Fine/Fine. A substantial, heavy book which is prone to losing its shape but this remains a tight, firm binding. In a Fine unclipped dustjacket.
