Lawrence Block (born 1938) is an American crime writer and one of the most decorated authors in the genre, having won four Edgar Awards from the Mystery Writers of America. Best known for the Bernie Rhodenbarr burglar series and the Matthew Scudder private detective series. The Gollancz UK edition of this title is notably scarcer than the American edition.

Laid into the book is a plain white index card (6" x 4") hand-signed by Lawrence Block.

Condition: An attractive copy: top-edge slightly dust-marked but very square and tight and free from owner names. Near Fine. Dustjacket price-clipped with minor creasing to the top-edge.
