La Dolce Vita - Vintage Finnish Movie Poster, Circa 1973

A vintage Finnish movie poster for the Fellini classic La Dolce Vita starring Anita Ekberg and Marcello Mastroianni. 

The film premiered in Finland in September 1960 at the Rea theatre in Helsinki.  A re-screening at the Ritz cinema, Helsinki took place in 1973. This poster dates from the period following that second Finnish screening, with text on the poster describing it as "amongst the most significant films of the 60's". This dates the poster to circa 1973.

You are looking at a Finnish "tour" poster printed for distribution to the small regional cinemas and other venues (e.g. clubs, village halls etc) outside of the main cities following a theatrical run in the Capital and major cities. 

Finnish tour posters were re-sized, reprintings of studio/distributor-issued lobby posters, usually narrower and longer to accommodate spaces for entering information about screening times, ticket prices and venue etc. They were usually trashed after use but were sometimes surplus to requirements if demand for hiring the movie was lower than anticipated and so occasionally resurface nowadays in unused condition. This is one such example.

Measures 16.5" by 24.5" approx (42 cm x 62 cm). Designed by the prolific poster-artist, Engel, with his signature (in the plate) lower right.

In excellent clean condition, a rolled poster without a folding crease. A small crease to the right top corner and further creasing along the bottom six inches of the right edge.
No pinholes, paste residue or clamping marks, certainly an unused example
The verso is unmarked.
