John Cooper Clarke (born 1949) is a British poet and performer from Salford, known as the Bard of Salford. He rose to prominence during the punk era of the late 1970s with his rapid-fire spoken word style, and his poem Evidently Chickentown gained a new generation of fans through its use in an episode of The Sopranos (2007). He remains one of the most distinctive voices in British poetry.
A plain white card bearing the poet's hand-written signature. Measures approximately 6" x 4". Pencil notes to verso. An uncommon autograph.
Provenance: from the collection of Clive Bullimore, a prolific and well-documented autograph collector.
