An original Finnish first-screening poster for Marty (1955), the United Artists drama starring Ernest Borgnine - one of the most acclaimed films of its era. Marty swept the 1956 Academy Awards, winning Best Picture, Best Director (Delbert Mann), Best Actor (Borgnine), and Best Adapted Screenplay, and remains one of only two films to win both the Palme d’Or at Cannes and the Academy Award for Best Picture. Premiered in Finland in October 1955 and next screened on Finnish television in 1966.
