The collection comprises some 13 autograph letters signed, 4 typed letters signed, a signed Memorandum of Agreement, a typed interview signed with Ambler's annotations, and a small signed photograph with dedication.
Autograph Letters Signed: Variously dated from 1938 up to 1985 the correspondence includes several letters to Miss Eileen Cond, a well-known socialite and collector with whom he appears to have formed an enduring pen-pal relationship. Other correspondents include journalists, a publisher and fellow author Julian Symons.
Typed Letters Signed: 4 one-page letters dated 1953, 1965, 1966 and 1981 respectively and the last addressed to English crime fiction author Harry Keating.
