A fabulous cinema-used, First Screening, Finnish lobby poster for the French crime movie, Les Femmes s'en balancent, starring Eddie Constantine as Peter Cheyney's fictional American detective, Lemmy Caution and based on his novel The Dames Don't Care - The movie was re-titled "The Women Couldn't Care Less" for English-speaking audiences.
The film's first and only screenings took place in Finland in 1955 and this is a first-release poster.
Standard Finnish A2 size, measuring approximately 15.5" x 23.5 . The poster was made by the legendary Finnish printers Piirtopaino Oy, no artist signature.
Condition: C7, Very Good. A folded poster with one folding crease to middle and a second diagonal across the lower left corner. Two pinholes to top and four further pin-holes around the bottom. What appears to be edge-wear to extreme right edge resulting in loss of the black colour is in fact a printing issue. No tears or nicks, the odd spot of very minor surface wear . Very minor handling creases to right. In lovely clean condition - a couple of minor stains to the verso which do not bleed through. Far and away the best version of all the international posters for this particular movie.
We describe all noticeable faults in our movie posters but for best appreciation of condition please examine the high resolution image which accompanies the listing.
