Published in London by Gollancz, 1974.

First Edition, thus, First printing, Hardcover in Dustjacket.

A super copy of this "extraordinary detective novel" by German author Ernest Borneman, writing in English as "Cameron McCabe - chief protagonist in the actual story. Not only a crime writer, Borneman - according to his Wikipedia page - was also a filmmaker, anthropologist, ethnomusicologist, psychoanalyst, sexologist, communist agitator, jazz musician and critic.

The book was originally published in 1937 and although it drew favourable reviews at the time seems to have garnered mostly a cult-following over the years, culminating in this reissue by Gollancz in 1974. Neither the first nor this second edition are easy to find. An excellent, fresh copy with very few signs of previous use, certainly Fine in Fine unclipped dustjacket.
