Ray Bradbury (1920–2012) was an American author widely regarded as one of the greatest science fiction and fantasy writers of the twentieth century. Best known for Fahrenheit 451 (1953), The Martian Chronicles (1950), and The Illustrated Man (1951). He received a special Pulitzer Prize citation in 2007. Bradbury was famously reluctant to travel and disliked flying, making UK-signed material particularly scarce.
