Allen Ginsberg (1926–1997) was an American poet and a leading figure of the Beat Generation. His poem Howl (1956) — which opened with the line “I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness” — became one of the most celebrated and controversial works of twentieth-century American literature. He was also a prominent political activist and countercultural figure.
A plain white card bearing the poet's hand-written signature, dated 12 March 1994. Measures approximately 6" x 4". Pencil notes to verso.
