An uncommon signed copy of the first volume which has been inscribed to the original owner and signed and dated by Alan Clark at the title page.

In VG condition, the book has a slight lean, reading crease to the backstrip and is pushed at the spine tips, corners bumped and rubbed a little.

The dustjacket is unclipped but does have a sizable tear at the lower front corner which has been repaired - not particularly well - with sellotape to the inside. Rubbing to the remaining corners with split at one top corner and a small chip to the laminate at the crown.
