Admiral Ushakov - Vintage Finnish Movie Poster 1953

An original Finnish first-screening poster for Admiral Ushakov (1953), the Soviet historical epic directed by Mikhail Romm which depicts the life and campaigns of Admiral Fyodor Ushakov, the celebrated 18th-century Russian naval commander, later canonised by the Russian Orthodox Church. First and only Finnish screening in November 1953.

Standard Finnish A2, approximately 60 × 40 cm. Artist-signed in the plate.

Condition: Good. Cinema-used, centre fold line. Free from pinholes or adhesive residue. Some tanning. Several edge tears, the largest approximately 1.5 inches; no paper loss and repairable. A few small nicks to the left edge. Notwithstanding these faults, a beautifully illustrated and colourful poster and a rare survivor from the Soviet film distribution circuit in Finland.
