A Short History of the British Working-Class Movement, 1789–1947, new edition, published by Allen and Unwin, 1966. Hardcover in dustjacket.

An extraordinary copy of this standard work on British labour history, signed by twelve senior members of the British Labour Party from the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. The signatures appear at the front pastedown, front endpaper, and - modestly alone - at the half-title.

The signatories are: John Prescott MP (now Baron Prescott); the late Tam Dalyell MP; Neil Kinnock MP (now Baron Kinnock); the late Denis Healey (Baron Healey); Clare Short MP (retired); the late Donald Dewar MP (inaugural First Minister of Scotland); Roy Hattersley MP (now Baron Hattersley); the late Michael Foot MP; the late Tony Benn MP; the late Robin Cook MP; Gordon Brown MP; and George Galloway MP.

Neil Kinnock, Michael Foot, and Gordon Brown each served as Leader of the Labour Party; Gordon Brown served as Prime Minister 2007–2010.

A unique item of British political memorabilia. Book in Very Good condition (previous owner's name at foot of front endpaper). Dustjacket with price-clip; minor chipping at corners and spine tips.

Condition: Very Good / Good.
