Originally intended to be published in America by St Martin's Press, Pratchett's UK publisher Smythe rejected that publisher's low-ball offer at the last moment and sold the rights to Doubleday who issued it under their SFBC imprint.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll issue-points present: Book Club Edition statement at bottom corner of the front flap. No ISBN recorded. Gutter-code \"R32\" at page 188. Serial number 11154 printed at the bottom of the rear panel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLaid into the book, a lovely clear autograph of Pratchett's in black ink - a signature-cut from a later Discworld title. The paper measures approximately 11cm x 12cm with plenty room for trimming as desired.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition: an excellent copy. The book is square and remains firmly bound. Bumped at both spine tips and very lightly bumped at the corners. The book is free from owner names or labels, very mild toning of the text-block commensurate with age but in no way \"tanned\". Near Fine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe dustjacket is complete without nicks or tears. Minor rubbing to corners and spine tips.
